About this place
A short turn off the streets near Honancho Station, Sushidokoro Miyabi is a reassuring choice for an evening when you want good sushi without the fuss. The namesake Miyabi nigiri set is a highlight, with medium-fatty and lean tuna, sea bream, ark shell, egg, sea urchin and salmon roe gunkan, and a tuna roll, alongside miso soup with a savoury seafood stock. It brings together familiar favourites, including thick-cut lean tuna and pleasantly crisp ark shell, at a reasonable price—an easy first order that feels satisfying.
The menu offers nigiri and chirashi sushi in tiers from the more affordable Ume through Take and Matsu to Miyabi, making it easy to choose according to your appetite and mood. Rolls range from generously filled futomaki, toro rolls and daimyo rolls to simple thin rolls such as kanpyo and shinko. Drinks are equally straightforward: bottled beer, Sapporo Black Label, Senpuku sake by the serving or as namazake, and highballs. They suit an unhurried meal of a few bites between drinks.
The sushi chef and his wife run a homely dining room with a relaxed atmosphere where solo diners can feel at ease as well as regulars. The restaurant opens in the evening from 18 to 23, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and accepts advance reservations if you would like to secure a dinner table. It works for a meal after work or for a casual stop to enjoy a little sushi after drinks elsewhere.
